Unique to Tobermory Gin, a splash of spirit from the Tobermory whisky stills is added, creating a standout spirit! This is one to try for gin AND whisky lovers!
The story
Established in 1798, Tobermory is the only whisky distillery on the Isle of Mull. The distillery is also one of the oldest in Scotland, producing one of the oldest Single Malts! Last year the distillery team were keen to expand their skills and produce their first gin…
On Mull, they celebrate creativity and this is evident in the colourful houses of Tobermory, framed by the rich and dramatic landscape of the beautiful island. Definitely one of the most picturesque places to have a distillery!
It was important for the team to create something truly original and unique so when the opportunity arose to secure a redundant John Dore & Co copper still from South Africa… it was perfect timing!
Using a splash of spirit from Tobermory’s famous whisky stills, along with a mix of botanicals (some hand foraged on the island) Tobermory Gin is super delicious and definitely one you need to try!
The GIN
Inspired by the expressive nature of Mull, a splash of spirit from the Tobermory whisky stills is added to create the interesting character to this award winning gin. Distilled on the island with a rich palate of hand-selected botanicals including juniper, tea, heather, elderflower, sweet orange peel, and just a little bit of knowledge from our 220 years of history!
Process
Tobermory Gin starts life as a blank canvas. The base spirit they use has been distilled over and over until it is just that. Clean, fresh and ready to take on a colourful array of flavour. All of the botanicals are steeped for a minimum of 24 hours in the base spirit.
