Cool down with a Gooseberry Gin Julep! 🍸🌿

When it gets hot in the UK, we do struggle with the heat… so I decided to make an extra long, refreshing Gooseberry Gin cocktail to quench your thirst!

This Slingsby Gooseberry Gin Julep is delicious! I wanted to make it with a little fizz too, so topped it up with some wonderful Yorkshire Tonic water! I used a copa gin class, but feel free to make it in a more traditional high-ball glass.

Gooseberry Gin Julep Recipe

  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves, plus a small sprig to garnish
  • 20ml of elderflower cordial
  • Crushed ice
  • 50ml of Slingsby Gooseberry Gin
  • 50-100ml Yorkshire Tonic water (if wanting a longer/fizzy drink!)

Method

1. Muddle the mint leaves with the elderflower cordial in a glass, then add plenty of crushed ice
2. Add the gooseberry gin, give it a good stir and add more ice to fill the glass
3. Top with some tonic (if you would like a longer drink) and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint
4. Enjoy!
