Palmers Celebration Gin is the perfect drink for Wimbledon!
Palmers Celebration Gin is traditionally distilled with British Rose petals and strawberries… and it’s delicious! Palmers released this special gin in 2018 to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan. We think it will make the perfect tipple for watching Wimbledon later this month! 🍓🎾🍸
The Story
Palmers Gin is produced at Langley Distillery by the WH Palmer Group. Langley Distillery is one of the UK’s last remaining independent family owned distilleries dating back to 1805. Created by the Palmer family, this distillery is situated in the heart of the Black Country. They have a number of original copper pot stills which are very old (but still very much in use).
Angela is the still that produces Palmers Gin and was built in 1903. It is one of seven copper stills at Langley Distillery, all of which are named after instrumental women in the company’s history.
Angela was an important lady in the Palmer history. She created a gin recipe that was given as gifts to staff members. This recipe has been handed down and now jazzed up a bit to become the Palmer’s Gin we know today!
It was Natalie (Angela’s granddaughter) who felt the time was right for everyone to be able to enjoy her Gran’s secret 300 year old recipe! Thank you Natalie!! 🙌
Palmers is a classic London dry gin with juniper in abundance, complemented by spice and citrus notes coming from the grapefruit added to the distillation.
We love that there is so much history with Palmers. This is one entrepreneurial family!
The Gins
Palmers Dry Gin
Nose: Juniper in abundance blends with coriander seed, which hints a subtle dryness that is complimented by an edge of sweetness from orris root
Palate: spice and citrus notes follow from the cassia bark and grapefruit; the juniper lingers into the earth tones of angelica and coriander’s dryness finishing further with citrus tones
Finish: clean, fresh and lightly balanced with pleasant citrus & dry notes in the background
Palmers Strawberry and Rose Celebration Gin
Traditionally distilled with English Wheat spirit, British Rose petals and strawberries to create a truly unique Great British Gin.
Nose: Fruity and floral
Palate: a light sweetness blended with Szechuan peppercorns combined with a hint of strawberry
Finish: clean floral notes
Palmers Distillers Cut Gin
A stunning one shot blend of 15 botanicals that have infused overnight to produce a unique gin.
Early notes of juniper and coriander end up mingling with your taste buds leading to a mixture of herbs and spices with just a subtle hint of dryness.
Sumptuous fresh and floral crispness coming from lily bulb and iris roots completes a subtle and smooth lingering finish.
