The Zesty Citrus Box

Ginato Clementino Gin

Ginato Clementino Gin (43% vol) is a bright and vibrant gin made with Nebbiolo grape, Italian clementine orange and Tuscan juniper berries.

Leading with a floral and orange peel aroma that makes way to flavours of fresh clementine, cherry and rose with hints of lingering grapefruit on the finish.

Ginato gins are distilled with passion, using the entire length and breadth of Italy, with earthy juniper berries from the rolling hills of Tuscany, juicy sun-ripened clementine oranges from the south of Italy and, for a unique twist, the finest Pinot Grigio grapes from the Friuli in the north.

Blessed with over 50 years of distilling heritage, the Ginato distillery is situated in Ravenna, within the northern Italian province of Emilia Romagna, a diverse region home to seaside towns, historic cities and incredible Italian food!
This light and fresh, sunny gin exudes the true essence of Italy.

6 O’clock Gin – London Dry

Strikingly smooth 6 O’clock Gin – London Dry (43% vol) has a clean flavour led by juniper.

Elegant, crisp and refreshing 6 O’clock artisan gin is a classic London Dry handcrafted in small batches, using traditional skills and only the best natural ingredients.

Smooth to taste and beautiful to behold in its iconic Bristol-blue glass bottle, this original award-winning London Dry was born in 2010, perfected from an old family gin recipe. The name was inspired by the distillers long-held family tradition of indulging in a G&T at 6 O’clock; a custom still enjoyed at the distillery and shared by gin-lovers all over the world.

It has a soft and citrusy flavour, led by juniper, carefully balances with coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, winter savory, elderflower, orange peel, and subtle spice all lovingly distilled for a deeply-delicious taste experience.

The New Year Cheer Box Banner

The New Year Cheer Box 🇬🇧

F. Scott Fitzgerald

“For what it’s worth… it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be.

There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing.

We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it.

I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before.

I hope you meet people who have a different point of view.

I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”

The Story

The City of London has a rich gin history. During the Gin Craze in the 18th century there was a gin distillery or gin shop in every street in the City benefiting from the spices and citrus fruits coming in to the port of London.

When the Gin Craze ended, very few gin distilleries survived, and for nearly 200 years there wasn’t a single gin distillery in the City. That is until the City of London Distillery opened in 2012.

The City of London Distillery opened on 20th December 2012 inside Jonathan Clark’s cocktail bar in Bride Lane, within the City of London.

The production of gin began on a pair of 200L copper stills named Clarissa and Jennifer (named after ‘The Two Fat Ladies’ of the BBC food show). Their first gin was a classic London Dry Gin – followed soon after by our celebration of the City of London – Square Mile gin. Since then they’ve added a very popular Sloe gin, an Old Tom gin, a Christopher Wren gin as well as the contemporary flavours Six Bells Lemon Gin, Murcian Orange Gin and Rhubarb and Rose Gin to their range.

In 2016 a larger 500L pot still was bought in alongside the original pair to scale up production. This new larger still was launched in 2016 to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and named Elizabeth accordingly.

This is Christmas!

This is Christmas! Copperfield Gin

“Turning up his cuffs – as if, poor fellow, they were capable of being made any more shabby – [he] compounded some hot mixture in a jug with gin and lemons and stirred it round and round and put it on the hob to simmer.”

From Charles Dickens to Catherine Miller, gin has always held a connection with Christmas in the literary world. Of course, we firmly believe that transfers into our literal festive sphere, and we are very excited to share this time with you all!

This is Christmas!

Copperfield gin is hand-bottled and hand-labelled. Embellished with a stunning illustration of interwoven botanicals overlaid with rich copper foiling and pays homage to book covers from the late 19th century.

Dr Christopher Smart and his wife Professor Katherine Smart launched the Surrey Copper Distillery in 2018, and created a gin based on a recipe penned by Ambrose Cooper in his Complete Distiller first published in 1757. This gin brings history to life!
