Ginger Rogers Cocktail

I love a spicy cocktail this time of year, but this one is also really refreshing! Boatyard Old Tom Gin works wonderfully with Ginger Ale (especially Franklin & Sons). However you can try this with a London Dry Gin too, both styles are lovely. Enjoy!

If you enjoy gin and ginger, this cocktail is for you! Sweet and spicy with that refreshing hit of mint! It’s really easy too. The ginger syrup is really simple and you can store it in a bottle/jar in the fridge for 2 weeks (for more cocktails or even soft drinks).

Ginger rogers cocktail recipe

  • 50ml Gin – I like Boatyard Old Tom
  • 30ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 25ml ginger syrup  (water, sugar, root ginger)
  • Ginger Ale – I recommend Franklin & Sons
  • About 6 fresh mint leaves (plus a sprig to garnish)

Method

Make your ginger syrup. You can follow my simple syrup recipe and just add a few pieces of fresh root ginger to the pan (strain before leaving to cool).

Put the mint leaves and ginger syrup into a glass and using a spoon gently press on the mint leaves or stir to release the oils!

Pour in the lemon juice and gin and stir.

Add ice to the glass and then top up with ginger ale and stir a little more.

Garnish with a lemon wedge and a sprig of mint.

Enjoy!
